Carolina Scabini (Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires, 1997) radica en el sur de Capital Federal, donde se crió y creció a la par de su interés por el registro de la imagen. En 2021, empezó a desempeñarse profesionalmente en el área de prensa y comunicación del ex Ministerio de Desarrollo Territorial y Hábitat de la Nación (actual Secretaría de Desarrollo Territorial, Hábitat y Vivienda), ejerciendo el rol de fotoperiodista y diseñadora web.
Algunos de sus proyectos han sido exhibidos en diversos programas de Derechos Humanos, incluyendo la ONU Hábitat, y ha recibido premios por su contribución al fotoperiodismo contemporáneo, tales como Inclusive, Vibrant Neighbourhoods and Communities del Flagship Programme de la ONU (2021) y el Concurso Latinoamericano de Fotografía Documental “Los trabajos y los días” (2022). También ha obtenido una mención por Mejor Proyecto Pedagógico Fotopalermo en la Universidad de Palermo bajo la cátedra Andicoechea (2024) y ganó el primer premio en el marco del Mejor Proyecto Pedagógico Fotopalermo bajo la cátedra Verseci (2025); segundo premio bajo la cátedra Spinacci (2025); y el tercer premio en el marco del XVI Foro de Producciones Profesionales de Estudiantes DC bajo la cátedra Hernández Flores (2025). En 2026, recibió el segundo premio en el marco de Ensayos Contemporáneos y Ensayos sobre la Imagen bajo la cátedra Russo.
Actualmente, se encuentra finalizando sus estudios superiores en la Licenciatura en Fotografía en la Universidad de Palermo.
Carolina Scabini (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, 1997) lives in the southern part of the city, where she grew up and developed her passion for photography. In 2021, she began working professionally in the press and communications department of the Ministry of Territorial Development and Housing (now the Secretariat of Territorial Development, Housing, and Habitat), serving as a photojournalist and web designer.
Some of her projects have been exhibited in various human rights programs, including UN-Habitat, and she has received awards for her contribution to contemporary photojournalism, such as the UN Flagship Programme's Inclusive, Vibrant Neighbourhoods and Communities award (2021) and the Latin American Documentary Photography Competition "Los trabajos y los días" (2022). She also received an honorable mention for Best Pedagogical Project at Fotopalermo, awarded by Professor Andicoechea (2024), and won first prize in the same competition under Professor Verseci (2025); second prize under Professor Spinacci (2025); and third prize at the XVI Forum of Professional Productions by DC Students under Professor Hernández Flores (2025). In 2026, she received second prize in the Contemporary Essays and Essays on the Image category under Professor Russo.
She is currently completing her undergraduate studies in Photography at the University of Palermo.
